785,512. Finishing fabrics. CASAJOANA, J. F. Feb. 9, 1956 [Feb. 11, 1955], No. 4119/56. Class 42 (1). In a driving device for a textile fabric napping machine a planetary mechanism is provided between a centrally disposed toothed wheel 2 loosely mounted on a shaft 1 and a plurality of gear wheels 5 rigidly fixed to the card rollers 6. The planetary mechanism is rigidly connected to the shaft 1 and comprises a plurality of planet gears 3 mounted respectively on separate spindles 4 and spaced around and arranged to engage the toothed wheel 2 and to engage the gear wheels 5 of the card rollers 6. A speedadjusting means 9 is connected to the toothed wheel 2 independently of the shaft 1 and the planetary mechanism so that the speed of the card rollers may be varied by superimposing the drive from the means 9 on the drive from the shaft 1.
