Abstract

784,743. Velocity modulated tubes. EITELMcCULLOUGH, Inc. Aug. 9, 1954, No. 27053/56. Divided out of 784,742. Class 39(1). A velocity modulated tube has an elongated evacuated envelope formed by straight tube sections 4, 6, 7, 8 forming a drift tube having gaps where cavity resonators 9, 11, 12 are provided the resonators having metal end walls mounted on the drift tube sections ceramic cylinders 46 sealed across the gaps to keep the vacuum and a water jacket 49 surrounding a drift section tube between a pair of adjacent resonator portions and comprising a sleeve surrounding the drift tube section and is secured at both ends to the adjacent end walls of the resonator portions. The description is the same as that of Specification 784,742.
