Abstract

A bituminous composition comprises a mixture of, in percentages, 40-70 bitumen; 2-15 natural or synthetic rubber; 7-25 petroleum jelly; 2-10 mineral oil; 10-50 filler and 1-5 plastics material, e.g., natural or synthetic resins. High molecular fatty acids may also be present. Fillers specified are chalk, limestone, slate, mineral, e.g., asbestos or vegetable fibres. Protective coating may be applied to the mixture, and is removed before the mixture is used.
