Abstract
An expansion jointing composition comprises bitumen, a mineral filler which may be titanium dioxide and/or carbonate of lime and/or finely divided sand, and up to 5 per cent. by weight of asbestos which may be powdered or fibrous or a mixture of the two types. The bitumen may be the residue obtained on distillation of petroleum or may be albino bitumen, and may be first emulsified in water and the filler and asbestos then added.
