Abstract

A cement composition, especially for backing glass plates or attaching glass plates to walls, comprises an aqueous mixture of portland cement and an oil-containing bitumen or resinous binder. For example, a composition comprises 4-5 parts of sand, 3 parts of portland cement and one part of bitumen or resinous binder containing 5-10 per cent of oil. Suitable bitumens are oil residue bitumen, and Trinidad bitumen to which a quantity of oil has been added. A suitable resinous binder comprises 90 per cent or more of rosin containing 5-6 per cent of rosin oil, and 10 per cent or less of rubber.
