Abstract

780,426. Concrete mixers. PARKER, Ltd., F., and LAWTON, R. F. Aug. 22, 1955 [June 2, 1954], No. 16325/54. Class 86 In a concrete mixer comprising a rotatable drum 13 mounted in a pivotable U- shaped arm 11, the drum-tilting gear and power unit for rotating the drum are mounted on the same side of the drum. A shaft 31 carries at one end a bevel pinion 30, which meshes with a crown wheel 17 on the drum, and at the other end it carries a chain wheel 33 which is connected by a chain 34 to a power unit 37 for rotating the drum. A hand-wheel 28 for tilting the drum 13 is mounted on a shaft 27 carrying a pinion 29 which meshes with a gear wheel 20 attached to the arm 11. A pivoted trigger 24 engages notches 25 in the gear wheel 20 so as to releasably secure the drum in a selected tilted position. The gearing and power unit are contained within a single casing 10 and a door 39 in the casing provides access to the power unit.
