Abstract

694,088. Mixing appliances. BEDNER, J. W. Feb. 25, 1952, No..4902/52. Class 86 A rotatable drum concrete &c. mixer has a stirring member driven with planetary motion about the drum axis by a gearing unit driven by. the rotation of the drum, the ' direction of orbital motion being opposed to the direction of rotation of the drum. The drum 1 is rotatable on. a fixed shaft 3 extending from a tiltable yoke 4 and is driven through gears 6 and 7. The stirring member 8 is rotatably mounted in a planet wheel carrier 10 which is freely rotatable about the central sleeve 2 of the drum. A gear wheel 14 and a reaction gear 15 are secured respectively to the sleeve 2 and shaft 3 so as to engage the parts of a composite gear wheel 11. A gear wheel 13 on the shaft 9 of the stirring member 8 engages a gear 12 which meshes with the gear 11.
