Abstract
664,297. Toothed gearing. STOECKICHT, W. G. May 3, 1949 [Dec. 3, 1948], No. 11790/49. Class 80 (i). In an epicyclic reduction gear comprising a driving sun gear 1, a driven annulus 6, stepped planets 3, 4 and a fixed reaction annulus 5 of slightly different diameter from the driven annulus 6, the driven annulus'6 is unsupported by bearings and connected to the driven shaft 8 by means of a double toothed coupling 9, 10 so that the tooth pressures between the planets and the annulus 6 are equalised. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also an arrangement in which the annulus is rigid with the driven shaft and the planet carrier 13 is "floating." This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
