In a gear drive to a trunnion 1 of a cement mill, the drive is transmitted from a hub 5 of gear 4 through a cylindrical coupling member 8 having a toothed connection 12 at one end with the hub 5 and a toothed connection 9 at the other end with the trunnion 1. The gear 4 is driven by pinions 7 mounted in a housing 2 supported on pillars 3.
