590,038. Coupling shafts. SJOGREN, W. O. April 10, 1945, No. 8881. [Class 80 (ii)] Means for coupling a driving member 12 to a rotatable shaft 10 consists of a bushing 15 splined to the driving member, and loosely surrounding the driven shaft 10, and a collar 20 surrounding the end 15a of said bushing, the bushing and the collar having corresponding axially extended and radially offset recesses 22, 26, 27. A dog 24 with serrated teeth 30 fits into two of the recesses 22, 26 and is held into engagement with the shaft by a set screw 32. If the shaft is to rotate in the opposite direction, the collar 20 is reversed and rotated through 180 degrees, the dog being likewise reversed.
