In skinning apparatus comprising two coaxial disc cutters 1, 2, supported in a housing 3 and driven with opposite rotary oscillating movements by means of a crank shaft 8 and two cranks 6, the shaft 8 is driven by means of bevel gears 11, 13 and a spindle 12 either from a flexible shaft 15 driven by a suspended electric motor or directly from an electric motor built into the hand grip 14. The cutter teeth are blunt at the edges but sharply ground on the flanks. A hand protector 18 is provided on the housing.
