Class 86 [Also in Group VI] Meat to be minced as in the parent Specification and mixed with water, ice or spices is placed in a container 5 which is then wheeled into position when the rotated cutters 20 have been raised clear by a motor 14 The container 5 is wheeled up ramps 2 and 3 until the wheels 6 rest in notches 7. To lower the knives 20 the motor 14 driving through gears 12, 13, 22 rotates a screwed spindle 9 to lower a nut 10 whereby a sliding pillar 8 carrying the top gear, motors 14 and 18 and the lid 17 is lowered on to the container. The motor 18 is then started to rotate the cutters 20. Water, ice or spices may be added through a funnel and mixed in with the meat by blades or shredders 21 rotated through gears 22 &c. from the motor 14. A gear operating handle Fig. 2 places the gear 13 in one or other of the gear coupling positions. In Fig. 3, not shown, the lid and top apparatus is raised up or lowered by a rack and pinion. In Fig. 4 (not shown) the cutters, mixers and their driving motors are mounted on a pivotal arm (29, not shown) and counterbalanced by a spring and rope, so that all can be pivoted up by hand.
