[Class 86] A mixing machine provided with a freely rotatable bowl 16 mounted on a turntable 15 on the base, and beaters 14 mounted on a standard 12, is characterized by the provision of means in the base to rotate the standard, and so move the beaters laterally. The standard 12, Fig. 4, is provided at the bottom with a circular plate 21 in which a toothed segment 17 is cut. A small pinion 18 meshes with the gear 17, and is fixed on a rod 28 which is secured to a spring metal handle 19 which protrudes from the base. Rotation of the handle 19 thus rotates the standard 12 about its pivot 20. Toothed plates 42, 43 under the standard 12 co-act with a projection on the handle 19 to lock the handle in accurately located position. The bowl, turntable and beaters may be removed and an appliance, such as a food grinder or mincer, fixed in holes in the base and rotatably connected to the motor 13.
