Abstract
780,158. Electric hot-plate; current supply. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. Jan. 11, 1956 [Jan. 12, 1955], No. 941/56. Class 39(3) [Also in Group XXXVII] A temperature controller or safety cutout for a cooker hot-plate 1 comprises a temperature-sensitive magnetic member 3 fixed in heat-conducting relationship to the underside of the hot plate and co-operating with a permanent magnet 6 mounted on a lever 4 pivoted at 5, the lever also carrying one of the contacts 7 of a switch connected in the circuit of the heater element 2. Normally, the magnet 6 is retained by the member 3 to hold the contacts 7 closed but at a certain hot plate temperature the member 3 loses its magnetic properties and the magnet drops against a stop 8. The arrangement may be such that the magnet is automatically picked up when the hot plate has cooled or the magnet may require manual resetting.
