607,813. Protective arrangements. DEHN, S. G. (Metals & Controls Corporation). Feb. 12, 1946, No. 4346. [Class 38 (v)] Protective means for electrical apparatus comprises an automatic-resetting thermal switch 1, such as that described in Specification 519,976, mounted on the motor so as to be influenced by its ambient temperature, and a manuallyreset switch 3, such as that described in Specification 521,236, located remote from the motor and connected in series with the switch 1. The thermal member 15 of the switch 1 normally shunts the heater 31 of switch 3, but on over: load or overheating of the motor it opens to connect the heaters 13, 31 in series to operate the switch 3, which has to be reset by the button 41 before the circuit can be re-made. In Fig: 2 (not shown), heater 31 is connected to contact 23 of switch 3, instead of heater 13, the operation being otherwise similar.
