Abstract

1350509 Switching systems for heating resistors SIEMENS ELECTROGERATE GmbH 24 Aug 1972 39567/72 Heading H2H Electrical heating apparatus comprises a multi-position switching device 10 provided with input terminals P1, P2 for connection to a power supply and with output terminals 1-4 connected to heating elements 5-7, a first temperature-responsive switch 9 and a second temperature-responsive switch 8. The elements heat a boiling plate and the switch 10 has seven positions, namely an off position and six other positions enabling different effective resistances of the heating elements to be connected across the supply terminals. The table shows the variation of the power for the six switch positions (a) before operation of either of the switches 8, 9, (b) after opening of the switch 9 at a temperature of 120‹ C. and (c) after opening of the switch 8 at 300‹ C. In a modification, the opening of the switch 8 switches off the power supply to the heating elements in all positions of the switch 10.
