Abstract
779,396. Container-filling machines. UNILEVER, Ltd. Sept. 30, 1955, No. 27917/55. Addition to 722,395. Class 94(1). [Also in Groups XXX and XXXV] The container filling machine disclosed in the parent Specification is modified by the addition of cam-operated hinged flaps to the shoots which guide the powder to the packets. The powder is (as before) supplied from a conveyer belt through a guide 30, Fig. 3, to the rotating shoots 28 which deliver the powder to packets clipped to the conveyer 31 which moves in synchronism with the shoots 28. Each shoot 28, Fig. 4, can be closed by a flap 35 which with an arm 37 forms a bell-crank pivoted at 36 and linked by member 39 and pivots 38, 40 to a rocker arm 41 pivoted at 42. The arm 41 carries rollers 43, 44 which co-operate with cam tracks 45, 46 (see also Fig. 3) so that whilst the shoot is passing beneath the supply conveyer cam track 45 rocks the arm 41 clockwise and closes the flap 35, and whilst the shoot is in dumping position over the packets cam track 46 opens the flap 35.
