638,776. Wrapping machinery. ROSE, A. G., and ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. April 9, 1948, No. 10033. [Class 94(i)] A wrapping machine of the kind employing a pocket member into which articles, generally with a wrapper, are fed, and which transports the articles through various stages of wrapping has any pocket of the pocket member formed with a movable side that is connected to the pocket member by means of an insert of rubber or like resilient material arranged resiliently to urge the movable side in a direction towards the opposing side. In a machine for wrapping sweets, a rotary pocket wheel 11 is formed with a series of pockets each constituted by a fixed part 12 integral with the wheel and a movable side 13 integral with a two-armed lever 14, 15 pivoted on the wheel, the arm 15 carrying a cam roller 17 bearing on a stationary cam 18 to open and close the pocket during rotation of the pocket wheel. The movable side 13 is yieldably urged into engagement with the fixed part 12 by means of a bush 19 of rubber or like resilient material whose axis is coincident with the pivotal axis of the movable side and which is bonded on to a metal insert 20 and also into a sleeve 21, the sleeve 21 being secured in a boss 22 of the lever 14, 15 while the insert 20 is bolted to the pocket wheel.
