Abstract

680,856. Lay figures. HARRIS & SHELDON, Ltd. May 23, 1951 [July 21, 1950], No. 18229/50. Class 52(v) A lay figure comprises two hinged shoulder portions 3 jointed to links 11 attached to a nut 9 fitted on a screw-threaded shaft 7. The shaft passes up through a partition 5 and is rotated by means of a cranked handle 14. Rotation of the shaft causes the nut 9 to ride up or down thereon thus moving the shoulder portions. A stop 17 limits upward movement of the nut. The rear of the lay figure is formed with a slot carrying resilient material 16 to take up any excess material in the garment.
