793,007. Feeding bags. HESSER, MASCHINENFABRIK AKT.-GES., F. March 27, 1956 [ April 7, 1955], No. 9528/56. Class 117 [Also in Group XVII] A machine for filling bags &c. includes step-by-step filling mechanism which transfers filled bags to a continuously moving conveyer by movement of transfer means incorporated in the filling mechanism tangential to the path of the conveyer. Two or more filling mechanisms each having an intermittently moving drum 5 may supply a continuously moving conveyer 1. The drums have suction heads 9 which remove bags from stacks 5 and carry them to opening and filling devices 7, 8 (not detailed). Transfer of the filled bags occurs during movement between operating stations under the influence of Geneva mechanism or the like, the speed of the drums at the point of transfer being adjusted to that of the conveyer to avoid shock. The conyever carries the bags past closing means (not described).
