805,591. Packaging machines. CLARKE-BUILT Ltd. Oct. 24, 1956 [Oct. 25, 1955], No. 30553 /55. Class 94(1). A bottle crating machine has bottles fed to beneath a transfer head 5 by a conveyer 1 having row separators 6 and an end stop 7, the end stop being releasable by descent of the head to allow spacing of the bottles longitudinally by members 9 attached to the head. The head, which may be as described in Specficafication 757,489 [Group XXIII] has a projection 19 which engages an arm 17, movement of which depresses a catch 13 normally holding the stop 7 in operative position. When the head rises with the bottles, the stop may swing back under the influence of weights 12 or the equivalent and be re-engaged by the catch. More than one end stop may be used.
