Abstract

915,167. Boxes for eggs &c. METAL BOX CO. Ltd. May 30, 1961 [July 1, 1960], No. 23174/60. Class 18. A box 1 moulded from papier mache or plastics has contoured sides 3 and/or 5 to co-operate with sensing devices such as microswitches. Each box is comparted to hold articles of the same grade, the contour being chosen to identify the grade. In the embodiment shown, the contour comprises vertical edges 6, 7 the former being inset with respect to the latter. The particular sequence of operation of the micro-switches determined by the contour causes a machine to select a wrapper for the box which is marked with the grade of articles contained therein.
