904,634. Feeding sweets. HANSELLAWERKE, A. HENKEL A.G. Oct. 26, 1959 [Aug. 19, 1959], No. 36161/59. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group XVII] A device for feeding articles, e.g. sweets, to a wrapping-machine comprises a continuouslyrotatable plate 1 having pockets 2 on its rim to receive the articles and which slopes upwardly from the pockets towards its axis of rotation and a stationary deflector 8 extending over the path of travel of the pockets. A number of deflectors 8, preferably made of rubber, are mounted on a stationary ring 7. The articles are fed from a container 3 over a vibrator shoot 4 controlled by a switch 5 responsive to the level of a feeler drum 6. The final deflector 8a before the delivery point 17 is extended by a sheetmetal strip 11 to convey surplus articles beyond this point. A foam rubber wedge 12 is also provided for this purpose. The articles slide on an adjustable guide-ring 13 which holds them in the pockets 2 and drops at the point 10 so that pushers on a conveyer chain can remove the articles singly from the pockets 2 to deliver them to the machine. If an article jams between a filled pocket 2 and a deflector 8 the latter gives way upwardly owing to the resiliency thereof.
