Abstract
779,076. Liquid fuel combustion apparatus. URQUHART'S (1926), Ltd. Feb. 5, 1955. No. 3467/55. Addition to 703,914. Class 51 (1). The invention claimed in the parent Specification is modified by delivering through the remote or rear wall of the combustion chamber in a direction contra, or having a substantial component contra, to the general direction of flow of the atomized liquid fuel stream, a stream or streams of a gas or mixture of gases instead of or in addition to the secondary air. The gas or mixture of gases other than secondary air may consist of oxygen, nitrogen, steam, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, a gaseous hydrocarbon, or any mixture of these, especially blast from furnace gases, producer gas, water gas, coal gas, commercial propane and commercial butane.
