Oct. 8, 1927. pulvarulent-fuel burners.-A pulverulent-fuel burner comprises a narrow cylindrical chamber a to which a gas such as air is supplied tangentially from a pipe i through nozzles b - - b<5>, a steam nozzle c being also provided, the powdered fuel entering tangentially from a conduit k. Gasification takes place as the fuel and air travel spirally towards the centre of the chamber at which the ash and gases pass out through an opening h. Secondary air is supplied through pipes n, n<1>, Fig. 2, or in the vicinity of the discharge opening h.
