Abstract

16,620. Evans, A. J. July 16. Spray burners.- Relates to apparatus for burning atomized liquid fuel for use in heating, evaporating, carbonating, or decomposing liquids, combining or decomposing gases or vapours and for heating purposes in general. The apparatus comprises a burner which projects into a combustion chamber. The burner comprises a casing b with a rounded tapering nozzle b<1> a central pipe b<2> with a tapering end which projects through the opening in the nozzle b, and an exterior annular chamber formed between the nozzle b<1> and an outer casing b<6>. Liquid fuel is supplied through the central channel b<2> and compressed air through the pipes b<12>. A cleaning-needle d, which may be retracted by a spring or quick-threaded screw, is provided.
