Abstract
473,230. Liquid - fuel burners. AMSTUTZ, J. March 3, 1937, No. 6338. Convention date, July 15, 1936. [Class 75 (i)] Liquid fuel is supplied to either of two diametrically opposite points of an evaporating plate 4 through one of two pipes 9 leading from separate compartments in a cup 13 arranged below an adjustable mouth piece 15 on a fuel pipe 16. The evaporating plate 4 is supported by legs 17 and is formed with a short central air tube 7 and inner and outer walls 6, 3. The lower part of the wall 6 is formed with openings 5. The wall 3 supports a perforated ring 11 provided with an inwardly projecting rim 12. The fuel admitted through one pipe 9 burns initially with the air entering through the other pipe 9 and the tube 7, and the combustion is completed by the air entering through the perforations 10 which are inclined so as to cause a whirling movement of the burning gases. When a coke deposit forms at the outlet of one fuel pipe 9, the mouthpiece 15 is moved to deliver into the other compartment of the cup 13.
