777,379. Caliper gauges. HORSTMANN GEAR CO., Ltd. Dec. 6, 1955 [Jan. 21, 1955], No. 1899/55. Class 106 (2). A caliper gauge for threaded members comprises opposing threaded anvils 3 mounted respectively on a pair of bracket jaws 2 at least one of the anvils being adjustably mounted as in Specifications 577,464 and 705,221 for fine adjustment on its jaw, the jaws 2 being relatively adjustable for coarse adjustment on a base beam or frame 1 comprising a pair of parallel rods along which one or both jaws can slide. As shown, each jaw is provided with two anvils to form with the complemental opposing anvils " Go " and " No Go " gauges. In another embodiment one anvil 3 is mounted on its jaw for fine adjustment and the opposing anvil is slidably mounted on its jaw to operate the feeler of a dial gauge. The anvils may be arranged for internal measurements.
