Abstract
A flux for a welding electrode (see Group XXII) consists of 25-30 per cent potassium chloride, 20-25 per cent sodium chloride, 0-9 per cent mineral cryolite, 3-16 per cent lithium fluoride, 0-6 per cent magnesium chloride and 15-35 per cent binder paste, 2-50 per cent of a powdered alloy of aluminium and 20-80 per cent silicon is mixed with the flux to form the coating of the electrode.
