Abstract
775,762. Assembling valves. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd. Oct. 29, 1954 [Nov. 17, 1953], No. 31809/53. Class 83 (2). [Also in Group XXIX] A fluid-pressure control valve is constructed by increasing the outside diameter of a part 9a of the tubular valve member 9 to equal the effective diameter of the seat of the valve 10 and slidably and fluid-tightly fitting the increased diameter part through the passage 5. The tubular member is first passed through a removable wall 7 via the passage 6 of slightly smaller diameter than 5 and the valve ground on its seat, which slightly increases the effective diameter of the seat. The part 9a is then increased to the diameter of the seat by coating it with nickel or chromium, e.g. electrically or by spraying. The increase in diameter may be effected by a metal sleeve, a hard rubber or thermo-set plastic material or by spraying lacquer on it. In this way the tubular valve member is accurately balanced with respect to the inlet and outlet pressures in chambers 4 and 2 respectively.
