Abstract
1,223,122. Valves. UNITED GAS INDUSTRIES Ltd. 24 April, 1968 [27 July, 1967], No. 34661/67. Heading F2V. A fluid pressure governor 1, comprises a chamber 5 formed between an inlet 2 and an outlet 3, a compressible seat 6 retained against the outlet end 10 of the chamber by means of an annular sleeve 11, which sleeve is apertured at 12 for communication with the inlet 2 and is non-rotatably maintained and secured within the chamber by means of a key 13 and key way 14 and a plate 16 and screws 17 respectively, and a valve member 7 which is biased to its open position by a spring 24 acting on a main diaphragm 19 connected to the valve member stem 8, and which is subjected to an oppositely directed force by the outlet pressure acting, via lines 22, 23, on the underside of the main diaphragm. A compensating diaphragm 15 is secured to the governor and to the stem and is acted upon both by the inlet and by the outlet pressure. The seat member 6 is formed from an annular metallic disc covered by rubber or plastics material.
