Alloys of magnesium, zinc and rare earth metals have compositions within the following range .Zn.5.0 - 7.0.per cent .Rare earths.0.5 - 2.0.per cent .Be.0.008 - 0.012.per cent .Si up to.0.15.per cent .Al.0.4 - 0.6.per cent .Mg.the remainder,. the rare earths added to the alloy having the initial composition .La.20 - 75.per cent .Nd.10 - 50.per cent .Pr.5 - 15.per cent .Sa.0.5 - 17.per cent .Ce up to.10.per cent Owing to differing reducibility of the salts of the rare earth metals the composition of the rare earth metals in the final alloy may be .La.25 - 35.per cent .Nd.40 - 65.per cent .Pr.8 - 12.per cent .Sa.0.5.per cent .Ce.2 - 10.per cent Specification 768,276 is referred to
