Abstract
Fully heat treated Magnesium-base alloy castings have compositions within the following range: .Zn.2,0.-.8,0 per cent .Rare earth metals.0,3.-.2,0 per cent .Mn.0,1.-.2,0 per cent Be a small proportion up to 0,05 per cent .Al.0.-.0,1 per cent .Fe.0,01.-.0,1 per cent .Mg.the remainder... The alloy may also contain one or more of the following elements: .Cd.up to 2,0.per cent .Th.up to 0,1.per cent .Pb.up to 0,5.per cent .Ag.up to 0,5.per cent .Hg.up to 0,5.per cent .Sn.up to 0,5.per cent The Provisional Specification describes also alloys in which the proportion of Be is 0,001-0,2 per cent but otherwise of the same composition. Specification 532,143 is referred to.
