Abstract

This is a preparation of an aluminium-silicon casting alloy containing as a blending agent 0.001 to 0.10% of strontium. Alternatively the alloy contains 4 to 15% of silicon and the rest aluminium with or without blending agents. Either of these alternatives may have one or more blending agents from the group titanium, boron, manganese, beryllium and rare earth metals in individual strengths up to 0.50% so that the total additional metals come to no more than 1%. This results in high casting qualities and stabilisation characteristics.
