Abstract

774,604. Spray burners. MURRAY, W. Nov. 29, 1954, No. 34540/54. Class 75(1) [Also in Group XXIX] A combined burner nozzle and non- dribble valve for oil fuel burners comprises a ball closure member 2a co-acting with a seat 4 and carried in a member 2 which is sealed to one end of a bellows 11 the other end of which is sealed to a plate 6 which is adjustable by a screw threaded engagement with the valve body 1. Within the bellows is mounted a loading spring 12 which urges the closure member towards its seating. Secured by a circlip 17 to the member 2 is a spring metal diaphragm 15 which is perforated at 18 for the passage of fuel. A spring 19 prevents unwanted rotation of the 'adjustable plate 6. Fuel enters the body at 5 and passes through passages formed by flaps 7 on the plate 6 to a chamber where it acts on the bellows in the valve opening direction..The outlet leads to the burner nozzle. In a modification the spring 12 is situated outside the bellows.
