Abstract

1,103,005. Burners. S. A BACKMAN, and K. L. WINQUIST. 15 Aug., 1966 [26 Aug., 1965], No. 36379/66. Heading F4T. A pressure oil burner has a nozzle tube 2 to which fuel is supplied from a line 3 through a channel 4 and the opening of the nozzle 5 is closed by a valve body 6 abutting a seating 7 under the influence of a tension spring 8 secured to a regulating rod 9, the fuel being delivered at a pulsating pressure having a frequency between 50 and 100 cycles per second to cause the valve body 6 to execute small oscillations longitudinally in the flow direction. Combustion air is introduced through a conduit 11 via a bellows compensator 12 to an air pipe 13 surrounding the nozzle tube and forming a chamber 14 with an annular outlet gap 15 which can be adjusted by moving the air pipe, the latter being connected to regulator 9 by a rod 18 so that as the gap is changed the spring tension is changed.
