Abstract

1, 098, 596. Spray carburetters. RUBERY, OWEN & CO. Ltd. Dec. 29, 1965 [March 2, 1965], No. 8781/65. Heading F1B. In a carburetter in which a fuel supply conduit 35, Fig. 1 and a throttle 24 are moved together and apart to control fuel supply, flow through mixing chamber 11 is controlled by a variable Venturi throttle 13, 14, Fig. 2, to achieve minimum turbulence. The movement of needle 24 is proportional to the movement of pivoted throttle plates 13, 14. A spring-loaded piston 37 moves spindle 30 in accordance with changes in inlet manifold pressure communicated through opening 34. The fuel enters mixing chamber 11 through the main jet emulsion tube 19. A compensating jet tube 20 is supplied with fuel through a conduit (44), Fig. 3 (not shown) directly from float chamber 40 and incorporates an adjustable air bleed (45).
