Abstract

1,119,106. Spray carburetter. GENERAL MOTORS CORP. July 28, 1966 [Sept. 16, 1965], No. 33877/66. Heading F1B. [Also in Division G3] The amount of fuel flowing to a nozzle 54 is controlled by a fluid amplifier 38 the control fluid of which is supplied by one of the outlets 24 of a second fluid amplifier 18. The fuel from a pump 40 flows across a gap to a pipe 46 returning to the fuel tank, any fuel not entering the pipe 46 flowing through pipe 48 to the nozzle 54. The amount of fuel reaching pipe 48 is controlled by the air flow through a control port 52 which is fed from the outlet 24 of amplifier 18, the inlet 20 of which is fed with compressed air by pump 22. The flow in pipe 24 is controlled by the suction at the Venturi throat 16.
