Abstract
1,207,364. Spray carburetters. McCULLOCH CORP. Oct. 3, 1967 [Dec.19, 1966], No.44897/67. Heading F1B. Fuel from a pump 24 actuated by crank-case pulsations panes through passage 29 to a control valve 39 controlled by a diaphragm 31 actuated by a control pressure set up by the crank-case pulsations. A check valve 51 permits only the positive pressure pulses from a line 49, connected to the crank-case, to enter through orifice 56 space 34 which is connected to atmosphere through a bleed orifice 57. The steady slate control pressure in space 34 varies with engine speed and throttle position and is smaller than the pumping pressure in space 27. The fuel from chamber 32 flows to main fuel orifice 46 and idling orifices 42, 43, the carburetter air passage 58 being unobstructed. The fuel air mixture flows into the crank-case 9 through a seed valve 8. The fuel entering through pipe 17 flows through a filter 20 and inlet valve 22 to the pump chamber 23 provided with an outlet valve 26.
