Abstract

771,181. Window frames. MYRTHA, G. Aug. 30, 1955, No. 24924/55. Classes 20(3) and 137 A display window assembly which provides for cementless, freely floating, glazing comprises a U-shaped main frame 1 the sides of which are secured within an opening in the masonry while the lower and upper members rest against a Z- shaped rail 3 secured in the opening with the interposition of distance pieces 2 for ventilation, a cover rail 4 attached to the front limb 1<SP>1</SP> of the frame 1 and a flexible fillet section 6 which is attached to the folded over edge 5 of the rear limbs 1<SP>11</SP> of the frame 1. A glass sheet 10, supported in the lower member of the frame 1 by insertions 11 and supporting members 12, is resiliently accommodated between limbs 4<SP>1</SP> and 9 of the cover rail 4 and the fillet 6 respectively. The limb 9 is provided with openings so that condensation water passing down the inside surface of the sheet 10 can pass on to the outside of the win dow. In order to ensure that there is no possibility of contact between the sheet 10 and the frame 1 the latter may be made of deeper section.
