Abstract

893,126. Glazing and panel fixing. ALUMINIUM-WALZWERKE SINGEN G.m.b.H. Dec. 20, 1960 [Dec. 23, 1959], No. 43760/60. Class 20(3) [Also in Group XXV] A pane, panel or other sheet 21, Fig. 5, is held in the framework of curtain walling, doors &c., comprising frame members 32 by means of a cover strip 10 having an inwardly extending flange 9 and one or more spring clips 4 holding the cover strip to the frame member, each clip embracing a part of the frame members and having a projection 6 mating with a recess 2 in the frame member or vice versa, and a recess 14 mating with a projection 13 on the flange 9, or vice versa, and each clip having a part 7 extending parallel to the pane &c., 21, the flange 9 serving to hold the clip against disengagement from the frame member. Fig. 3 shows the application of the cover plates to a door jamb 16 on the left and so the body of a swing door on the right, the jamb and door being fitted with resilient draught excluders 22, and with a glass panel 21 secured in the body frame. with putty &c. The recesses 2 may be grooves or spherical indentations other projections 6 correspondingly formed. The left-hand side of Fig. 5 shows the application of the cover plates which do not stretch across the front surface of the beam but cover only the ends of the beam.
