Abstract

1,099,537. Glazing &c. assemblies. M. ARND. June 16, 1965 [June 17, 1964], No. 25560/65. Heading E1R. In a panel fixing or glazing assembly comprising a glazing &c. bar 3 and pane &c. fixing beading strip 16, the bar 3 has at least two perpendicularly related faces 5, 6 one of which is rebated and functions as a stop and for supporting the pane and this face 5 has a V-shaped groove 4 extending parallel with and adjacent the junction edge of the two faces 5 and 6, the beading strip 16 has on one hand a part 8 projecting towards and terminating short of the pane 1, an inner projection 10<SP>1</SP> terminating in a chamfered edge 10 directed inwardly of the beading strip and engaging in the groove 4 where it is held by a resilient strip G engaging the pane 1 and the part 8<SP>1</SP> of the beading strip 16 opposite the pane and on the other hand a part 13<SP>1</SP> contacting the glazing bar on the other side of the V- shaped groove 4 relative to the edge junction of the two perpendicularly related surfaces 5, 6. The mounting bar may be a hollow bar of quadrangular cross section, at least one face having at each edge a groove 4 as above and the pane &c. being held between two beading strips 16, and the assemibly on the opposite face may be similar to mount two panes at 180‹ (Fig. 3).
