Abstract

955,573. Glazing. REPCO RESEARCH PTY Ltd. Dec. 6, 1961 [Dec. 9, 1960], No. 43726/61. Heading E1R. An edge portion of a pane 19 or other panel is fixed in parallel relationship within the dihedral of a frame member 20, 21 of rightangled section by a mounting strip 22 of obtuse V-section, one arm of which is secured to, as by spot welding 25, or is integral with, (Fig. 3, not shown), one arm 20 of the dihedral, and a retaining strip 27 co-operable with the mounting strip and the other arm 21 of the dihedral, to form a parallel sided longitudinal cavity receiving the edge of the pane preferably covered by an insert resilient rubber U-shaped strip 27 the cavity being filled with putty &c, 30, whereby on setting of the putty &c. the strip 27 effects a tight-locking engagement with the mounting strip and the frame member to resist pressure differances on opposite sides of the pane. The arms 23, 24 of the mounting strip may be at right-angles to each other and joined by a curved portion (Fig. 2, not shown) which co-operates with a correspondingly curved end of the arm 28 of the retaining strip.
