Abstract

1,024,715. Double glazing. SPIEGELGLASWERKE GERMANIA A.G. May 5, 1964 [May 20, 1963], No. 18608/64. Heading E1R. A double glazed window comprises a pane 2 secured in the frame 1 by putty. 3 or a glazing bead &c. and, mounted on the opposite side of the pane 2 to the bead 3 a second pane 4 secured to the pane 2 by a spacer strip 5 of epoxy resin or the like compound which adheres to the glass to enclose a space 6 and the trough space 7 between the strip 5 and the frame 1 is filled with the same compound as the strip 5. The frame surface in the trough 7 is pretreated with a release agent to prevent the resin from sticking to the frame during shrinkage in the process of casing.-e.g. an edhesive strip which can unstick from the frame as the resin shrinks.
