A sound-absorbing building board for lining ceilings and walls comprises a facing layer 3 of hard material such as hardboard, metal, or plastic material formed with perforations 4 united, e.g. by gluing, to a backing 2 of softer material such as fibre-board or asbestos formed with channels 5, 6, 7, either of different depths, or each one varying in depth along its length.
