692,709. Building panels. BOURGEOIS, C. April 11, 1950 [April 12, 1949; June 10, 1949; Aug. 31, 1949; Dec. 10, 1949], No. 8788/50. Class 87(i) A building panel of fibrous material is provided in its outer face with two series of parallel grooves 5, 6 mutually at rightangles forming square or rectangular projections 4. The border 3 is ungrooved. The grooves of the two series may be of the same or different depths, or alternate grooves of both series may be of different depths. In a modification, alternate grooves of one series are formed as through slits and the panel is backed up by strips of textile material or a sheet of perforated paper. In another construction, Fig. 6, the panel is backed up by a plane sheet 8 or by a second panel, spacing laths 10 being provided. In a modification, the panel is backed directly by a plane sheet. In a further construction, Fig. 8, an open box 13 filled with insulating material 15 is closed by a panel 16 which may be backed by a flexible transparent sheet 17.
