590,396. Doors. ACHESON, Ltd., M. B. April 19, 1945, No. 9816. Convention date, April 20, 1944. [Class 20 (iii)] In a door comprising plywood, wood fibre, or other covering sheets 9 10 secured to a frame the latter is provided with internal member: which bulge the sheet: outwardly from theii margins to their centres thereby increasing the rigidity and diminishing the tendency to warp oi the structure. As shown the frame includes a central vertical rib 6 and horizontal internal ribs 7, 8, all of which are of curvilinar form and increase in depth from their ends to theii centres, thereby bowing out the covering sheets 9, 10 as shown in Fig. 2 The internal ribs may be, as shown, formed o: two strips glued together, and the horizontal ribs and top and bottom members of the frame may be providec with holes 12 for circulation of air. Fell strips 11 may be placed between the edges o the ribs and the covering sheets, and the enclosed space in the door may be filled with sound damping material.
