[Class 145 (ii)] [See also Groups VIII and X] A composite structural material for walls, doors, &c. comprises sheets of plywood separated by compressed cork. Thus a slab of compressed cork 2, Fig. 1, may be adhesively secured between plywood sheets 1. A wooden frame 3, Fig. 2, may replace the cork round the periphery of the sheet, the cork slab being smaller in area than the plywood sheets and secured to them before or after assembly. The side, and, if desired, top and bottom edges of the door &c. so produced may be covered with a strip of wood 4 of the same kind as the outer layers of the plywood, the frame members 3 being grooved to receive ribs 7 on the strips 4.
