[Class 64(ii)] A sound-absorbing composite plate or board comprises in combination a frame 2, two perforated non-metallic sheets 1, 3 secured to the frame on opposite sides thereof, a filler 5 of sound-absorbing material e.g. sea-grass, glass wool, rock wool, fibre, or wadding and spacing laths or ribs 4. The sheets have a thickness which is only a small fraction of the thickness of soundabsorbing material intermediate the sheets, and both the sheets are made of a hard non-metallic material such as hard wood fibreboard.
