Abstract

A ceramic frit used in making a slip for coating a steel billet (see Group XXII), is formed from carbon and the oxides of aluminium, barium, boron, calcium, cobalt, copper, potassium, magnesium, sodium, nickel, phosphorus, silicon, titanium, zinc zirconium. The frit is smelted and ground and is then mixed with chromic oxide, pyrophyllite, clap sodium nitrite, sodium pyrophosphate and water to form the slip. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 663,357, 684,013 and 705,812 [all in Group XXII].
